Birmingham International Airport (BHX)
is the UK's 5th largest airport.
In 2003, the Airport handled 9 million passengers. The busiest day
so far at the Airport was 18th July 2003 when 36,130 passengers travelled
through the terminals and there were a total number of 382 flights
taking off and landing.
Over 100 destinations are served from the airport including: Alicante,
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Dubrovnik, Frankfurt, Geneva, Karachi,
Lyon, Madrid, Malaga, New York, Nice, Palma, Prague, Skiathos, Stockholm,
Toronto, Vienna and Venice.
The 50 airlines that operate from Birmingham include: Aer Lingus,
Air 2000, Air Malta, Britannia, British Airways, Cyprus Airways, Continental
Airlines, Emirates, Flybe, KLM, Lufthansa, MyTravel, MyTravel Lite,
Pakistan International Airlines, SAS and Thomas Cook.
(BHX) has two runways, the main runway is 2,605 metres long and is
used for large aircraft .The second cross-runway is 1,315 metres and
used primarily by general aviation traffic. |
